Craft Village & Val de Prés Restaurant

Just the picture of the museun "Grand Kaz" does not do eol restaurant to this artisanal village that also hosts a traditional Kreol Restaurant that is run by the students of teh Seychelles Tourism Academy. Like the distillery one can reserve a whole afternoon to appreciate in detail every aspect of the craft village that hosts nultiple events.

The site for the creation of the Seychelles famous rum that has hit the shelves of mutiple famous duty-frees world-wide and winning multiple award. The various cocktails on taste can be deceiving if driving. A fabulous time is assured on a thorough visit of the distillery.

Places of interest in the vincinity

There are very interesting sites to visit in close proximity of Dar & Douce. Seychelles prides itself to be the Kreol Capital of the World. Over decades, it has developed a the written and spoken Seychellois Kreol language to currently teaching it to all children in the early schooling years. It has translated the bible and developed it dictionary. The Kreol Institute which is the heart of all the efforts to turn the Kreol patois into one of the three official languages in the Seychelles Constitution is but a 10 minutes walk from Dar & Douce.

The Craft Village - ' Domaine Val de Pres' with its 'Pomme Cannelle' Restaurant is even closer, it is merely a 6 minute walk from the apartments. In his village one can witness the local artists ply their various trade whilst their products are on display for sale. A new restaurant has recently opned its dors on the way to the village serving luch and diner.

Whilst the famous Au Cap beach with its turquoise-blue calm seas is just across the main road. During the week unless its a public holiday the beach is deserted but one of the most popular beaches for family and friends traditional picnic.

A 20 minute slow walk and 8 minute drvve further up at Point au Sel is the popular Takamaka Bay distillery - and its sales outlet for a selection of its prize winning Rums. (fitably ind link that can be added here). In teh compount is a traditional structure that is a very well acclaimed restaurant. It is inevitably the ideal place to sample the various Takama Bay rum cocktails apart from enjoying its sumptuous a la carte menu.
